3 Broncs Honored
LAWRENCEVILLE—Three members of the Rider University swimming & diving program were honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Senior Amanda Burke (Churchville, PA/William Tennent) was named the MAAC women's Diver of the Week for the fourth consecutive week and has now won the award 11 of the last 13 weeks dating back to last season.
Senior Paul Apostolakis (Brooklyn, NY/Fort Hamilton) was named the MAAC men's Diver of the Week and senior Kellyanne Tomasula (Sussex/Vernon Twp.) was named the MAAC women's Swimmer of the Week.
In Rider's 150-146 win at Lehigh November 7, Burke won both the 1-meter dive (272.02) and the 3-meter dive (251.40) and Tomasula won the 100 backstroke (57.34), the 200 backstroke (2:07.19) and the 100 butterfly (58.81).
In the men's loss at Lehigh, Apostolakis won both the 1-meter dive (309.15) and the 3-meter dive (283.80).
The Broncs compete at La Salle with the host Explorers and the University of Delaware November 14.
