GREELEY, CO?The Broncs lost to North Florida in the second round of the Clarion Inn Classic, hosted by Northern Colorado. “We played okay but we didn't have our ?A' game and that is what was needed,” said head coach Drayson Hounsome.
UNF (2-4-1) scored 18 minutes into the game and it remained a 1-0 game until Katelin Swift scored two goals in 12 minutes to break the game open with 25 minutes remaining. “We made three mistakes and they resulted in three goals,” Hounsome said.
For Rider (1-5-1) senior Kayla Devlin (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) scored with 1:15 remaining to break up the shutout. “Even though we were 3-0 down we continued to work hard toward the end,” Hounsome said.
UNF out-shot Rider 17-10 and had six corner kicks to Rider's two. Shots were 9-7 UNF in the second half “It was a fairly close game,” Hounsome said.
Sophomore Alex Post (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks West) made eight saves in the Rider net.
The Broncs travel to Binghamton Wednesday. “We have to come with our ?A' game Wednesday or it will be more of the same,” Hounsome said.
