The Broncs nearly struck early when
Lauren Black forced a diving save from the Mount keeper in the third minute.
Mount answered with a pair of first-half chances, but freshman goalkeeper
Ashley Moore was sharp, turning away both attempts to keep the match level.
Rider carried an 8–6 shot advantage into the half, including a 3–2 edge on goal.
The second half delivered plenty of chances for both sides.
Black sent a shot just over the bar just 15 minutes into the second half, while Moore came up with her biggest stop of the night in the 72nd minute, leaping to deny a strike from Taylor Simmons.
Noa Menzing nearly broke through minutes later in the 79th minute, but her curling shot was pushed aside.
The Broncs thought they had the winner late when

Ava Ferrie, who headed it into the back of the net.
The celebration was cut short by a late offside flag.
Just a minute later, Moore came up big again in the 87th, turning away Mount's last push to lock up the scoreless result.
