Men's College Soccer-Bronc Fall Classic

St. Joseph's University 2, Binghamton University 1
LAWRENCEVILLE--LIU and St. Joseph's won in the first round of the Bronc Fall Classic, hosted by Rider University. On Sunday, LIU plays St. Joseph's at 12:30, and Rider hosts Binghamton at 2:30.
In the first game, LIU's Oskar Tilly took a pass from Andreas Stark and scored just 9:56 into the second half for the only goal of the game.
LIU (1-0) out-shot Rider (0-1) 16-5, including 11-0 in the first half. Junior Brian Gill (Smithtown, NY/St. Anthony's) made seven saves for Rider. Ryszard Gorski made two saves for the Blackbirds.
It was the first time LIU beat Rider since 1993, and just the second time in the nine meetings between these two teams. Rider won the last three meetings.
In the second game, St. Joe freshman Mike Guglielmucci scored 19 minutes into the second half to tie the score at 1-1, and scored the game-winner with 15 minutes left to play.
Stephen Bruce scored with two minutes left in the first half to give Binghamton (0-1) a 1-0 lead.
Both teams had 11 shots. Kevin Dougher made five saves for St. Joseph's, while Binghamton goalie Ian Wendel made three saves.
