Rider's Artale All-MAAC
Coyle, Best All-Rookie
ORLANDO, FLORIDA--Sophomore Sarah Artale (Jackson/Jackson) of the Rider University women's soccer team was named to the second team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference soccer team Thursday evening, while freshmen Tami Coyle (Sayerville/St. John Vianney) and Stephanie Best (Brick/Brick Memorial) were named to the MAAC All-Rookie team.
Artale is currently fourth in the MAAC in goals (9) and points (20). In the MAAC playoffs, Artale scored Rider's lone goal in the 1-0 quarter-final upset of the second seed, Fairfield, and compiled a goal and an assist in the first round win over St. Peter's.
Coyle has started all 20 games for the Broncs and in the nine conference games compiled four goals and an assist for nine points, fourth highest in the MAAC. Overall, Coyle has compiled five goals and two assists for 12 points, fourth highest among Broncs.
Best, a defender, has played in 19 games for the Broncs.
Rider is the seventh seed in the MAAC Championship Tournament, and plays Saturday in the MAAC semi-finals against the #3 seed, Loyola. The Broncs defeated the 10th seed, St. Peter's, 5-0 in the opening round on Wednesday, and upset the second seed, Fairfield, 1-0 in the quarter-finals Thursday.
