NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY--Sophomore Sarah Artale (Jackson/Jackson) scored two goals, and assisted on the third, as Rider defeated Niagara in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game Friday.

Artale scored just four minutes into the game to give the Broncs (5-6, 1-1 MAAC) a 1-0 lead.

Niagara (4-7, 3-4 MAAC) scored just 30 seconds later to tie the score.

Senior Kristen Haagenson (Huntington, NY/Huntington) scored the game-winner just five minutes later. It was Haagenson's first goal of the season. She now has eight career goals and 21 career points, both second highest ever at Rider.

Artale scored her team-high sixth goal of the season 10 minutes into the second half for the final score.

Senior Michele Herzog (Central Islip, NY/St. John Baptist), the leader of the Bronc defense, collected two assists.

Both teams took 16 shots. Rider sophomore goalkeeper Erin Wolleon (Bay Head/Pt. Pleasant Beach) made eight saves.

The Broncs continue their stay in Western New York with a MAAC contest at Canisius Sunday.
