Dr. Greg Chiang returns for his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Rider volleyball staff in 2015 after numerous years coaching at the juniors’ level. Coach Chiang is currently the Club Director for Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club (AVVC) out of Westfield, New Jersey as well as the 17-1 National Team Head Coach. Chiang also serves as a Coach Mentor and Recruiting Coordinator for AVVC.
Coach Chiang has demonstrated great success at the juniors’ club level helping his players continue their volleyball careers in college (many to Division I volleyball programs), and has also successfully taken four of his club teams to USA Volleyball Junior Nationals.
Along with coaching for AVVC, Chiang has previously served as a coach for the GEVA High Performance program and Watchung Hills Regional High School Girls’ Volleyball. He is also the Director for the Green Brook Recreation Volleyball Program for middle school aged athletes, the Flemington Raritan Volleyball Camp Director and the Sports Performance Volleyball Camp Director.
Coach Chiang also coached collegiately overseas as the Head Coach for the University College Dublin Women’s Volleyball Team, in Dublin, Ireland.
Coach Chiang is an IMPACT, CAP I & II certified coach through USA Volleyball.
Coach Chiang is a graduate of the University of Delaware with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology, and is also a graduate of the University of St. Augustine earning the degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Dr. Chiang, DPT, is currently a practicing Physical Therapist and is the CEO of Sports Performance Physical Therapy, LLC located at East Coast Conditioning Sportsplex in Edison, New Jersey. Chiang specializes in physical therapy for outpatient orthopedics injuries, manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, and general sprains and strains.
