Scarlett Glasser-Nehls was promoted to assistant coach at Rider University in June of 2026 after serving as the program’s Director of Basketball Operations during the 2025-26 season. She has quickly transitioned into a key member of the coaching staff, supporting all areas of program operations, player development, and day-to-day team management.
Glasser-Nehls played a key role in the development of Aliya McIver, who completed 64 steals across the 2025-26 season, 46 of which came in MAAC conference play. For her efforts on the court, McIver was named to the MAAC All-Defensive team.
Glasser-Nehls brings a strong playing background under head coach Jackie Hartzell, having competed for three seasons at Arcadia University. During her career with the Knights, she developed into one of the program’s most productive and consistent performers, surpassing 1,000 career points and earning All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention recognition in 2024-25. That season, she averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while starting 25 games and ranking among the conference’s top scorers.
Over her Arcadia career, Glasser-Nehls appeared in 80+ games with over 75 starts, steadily improving each season as a versatile guard known for her scoring ability, efficiency, and competitiveness. She was a multiple-time Academic Honor Roll selection and earned CSC Academic All-District recognition, reflecting her success both on the court and in the classroom.
Following her playing career, she joined the Rider staff as Director of Basketball Operations in 2025-26, where she gained experience in program logistics, travel coordination, scouting support, and day-to-day team operations before being elevated to assistant coach in recognition of her impact and basketball acumen.
A former student-athlete under Hartzell, Glasser-Nehls provides a strong understanding of the program’s standards, culture, and competitive identity, and continues to be a rising young coach within the staff structure.
Glasser-Nehls earned her bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration from Arcadia University.
“It’s always special when you are able to have a former player join your coaching staff,” said Hartzell. “Scarlett is a relentless worker and the ultimate competitor. Her attention to detail and organization skills will be a tremendous asset to our coaching staff.” Upon her elevation to assistant coach, Hartzell added, “Scarlett has been a tremendous asset to our program since arriving at Rider. She is an extremely hard worker, as loyal as they come, and someone who is eager to continue learning and growing as a coach. Her dedication to our student-athletes and our program has not gone unnoticed, and this promotion is very well deserved.”
