Dan Riverso, a 2007 graduate of Rider, returns to his alma mater as an assistant coach to work with the goal keepers for the men's soccer team.

While at Rider Riverso twice earned All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honors.  As a senior in 2006 Riverso led the MAAC in saves and was third in the conference in shutouts. He compiled a shutout in his final collegiate game, a MAAC win over Manhattan, to graduate with 10 career shutouts.

As a senior Riverso was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week and the Eastern College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. As a junior Riverso led the MAAC in saves and won the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week award. Riverso was second in the MAAC in saves as a sophomore in 2004, and also won the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week award that year.

As a Rider rookie Riverso played in six games and owned the best goals against average and save percentage on the team.

Riverso went on to attend the 2007 Pro Soccer Combine and earned an invitation to try out with two United Soccer League teams, the Rochester Rhinos and the Harrisburg City Islanders.

Riverso came to Rider from Williamstown (N.J.) High School, and is the staff goalkeeper training at Match Fit Academy. He holds his NSCAA State Goalkeeping license.
