Biography

2022:
- Started all 16 games played for the Broncs
- Scored the first goal of his collegiate career against Mount St. Mary’s (Oct. 19)
- Also added an assist in a tie against Marist (Oct. 22)
- Took seven shots, including three on goal for the year
- Played all 90 minutes seven times

Before Rider:
Played in 46 games, including 17 starts over four years at Rutgers… Contributed four assists in his four years… Two-time Academic All-Big Ten… Assisted on the game-winning goal to defeat Northwestern in 2021… Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society… earned the Spring 2021 United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction Award, the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and the Mike Miller Most Improved Player Award… Started eight of nine games played for Rutgers in Spring 2021, playing 100 percent of the minutes in seven matches… Had one assist vs. Penn State… Big Ten Distinguished Scholar… Appeared in 11 games as a sophomore in 2019, including three starts… Distributed a pair of assists on the year… Appeared in 17 games as a freshman in 2018, including six starts… Posted 22 goals and 27 assists in his career at St. Joseph's in Metuchen… As a senior in 2017, was named one of the top midfielders in the state by NJ.com… Followed up with a Third Team All-Non-Public selection behind five goals and 12 assists… The previous season, collected 13 goals and 14 assists in helping the Falcons to the GMC Tournament semifinals and the Non-Public A Final… Traveled to Spain with East Brunswick United FC, winning the "Golden Boot" for best player in the Donosti Cup.

The son of Tina and Carlos Cruz… A psychology major with a sociology minor… Has an older brother, Brandon and a younger brother, Josh… Brother, Brandon, was a two-time MAAC Champion (2015, 2016) for Rider men’s soccer.
