PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Rider University volleyball team was defeated in its final non-conference match Wednesday night at Penn, 25-18, 25-13, 25-11. The Broncs fall to 1-8 on the season, while the Quakers improve to 6-1.

Rider jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the opening set behind a kill and a block from
Anja Kelly (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley). Penn would immediately respond with an 8-0 run. Down 10-4, Rider scored three-straight including an ace from
Olivia DeSaro (Holland, PA/Council Rock South). The Quakers again responded, this time with a 6-1 run and the Broncs would not recover in the set.

Leading 6-4 in the second, Penn scored four-straight, then up 11-6, Penn pulled away with a 6-1 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Tied 3-3 in the third, the Quakers took control with a 6-1 run. Later holding a 13-8 advantage, Penn took the match using a 12-3 run.
