ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – In conjunction with the Metro Basketball Tipoff, the conference announced results of the league's Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Rider University men's basketball team was picked 13^th in the preseason poll, earning 22 points.
 
Fairfield received six first-place votes to take the top spot in the poll, followed by last season's regular season champions, Merrimack, who earned three first-place votes. Siena, who won last season's tournament championship, earned two first-place votes, was picked third. Iona was selected fourth, earning a first-place vote. Marist and Quinnipiac were picked fifth and sixth. Saint Peter's earned the final first-place vote, sitting seventh in the poll. Mount St. Mary's, Sacred Heart, Manhattan, Canisius, and Niagara round out the poll ahead of the Broncs.
 
Rider can be seen in action Oct. 24 inside Canastra Hammer Arena, taking on Alvernia in an exhibition contest. The Broncs begin regular season play on the road, Nov. 2 at Pittsburgh.
