EDISON, NJ – The Rider University women's soccer team was picked to finish eleventh in the metro Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, the league announced Thursday morning.
Fairfield (164) led the way in the preseason vote taking pole position while earning nine first place votes followed by the defending champions, Sacred Heart (151) in second place who received three first place votes and Quinnipiac (146) in third place who received one first place vote. Both Canisius (118) and Siena (118) tied the votes for fourth place along with Marist (86) and Manhattan (86) who tied for sixth place. Iona (80) landed in eighth place followed by Merrimack (72) in ninth place, Niagara (63) in tenth place, and finally, Rider (40), in eleventh place. Mount St. Mary's (39) and Saint Peter's (20) rounded out the poll in twelfth place and thirteenth place respectively.
The Broncs open their 2026 campaign on the road against Wagner on August 13 at 7:00 p.m. in Staten Island before opening their home schedule against Temple on August 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Ben Cohen Field.
