EDISON, NJ – The Rider University men's and women's cross country teams were selected in fourth and fifth place respectively in the Metro Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Men

The 2025 MAAC Men's Cross Country Champions, Iona, were selected unanimously in first place for the second season running with 169 points and all 13 first place votes as the Gaels continued their streak of 35 straight conference championships during last year's campaign. Marist and Siena checked in at second and third with 143 and 141 points respectively while the Broncs rounded out forth place with 128 points.

Women

Quinnipiac claimed poll position in the vote with 167 points and 11 first places votes after capturing the 2025 MAAC Women's Cross Country Championship followed by Iona in second place with 156 points and two first place votes. Marist and Sacred Heart rounded out third and fourth places with 132 and 131 points respectively while Rider came in at fifth place with a point total of 107 in the preseason poll.

The Broncs open the 2026 Cross Country season on Friday, September 4, racing at the Temple XC Invite in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
