EDISON, NJ – The Rider University men's soccer goalkeeper, Marius Helias was named the Metro Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

During the Broncs' 1-0 win over James Madison on August 20, the programs first win against a G5/P4 program since 2017, Helias logged his first win of the young season while recording four saves in goal while maintaining the clean sheet. Helias' shinning moment from the game come from a save on the stroke of the halftime whistle that not only maintained the shutout but was featured in the No. 2 spot of the SportsCenter Top 10 for August 21.

The Broncs return to action on Friday, August 28, opening their 2026 home schedule with a 7:00 p.m. game against Howard at Ben Cohen Field.
