Baseball Places Six on All-MAAC Teams

EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced selections for All-Conference honors Tuesday and the Rider University baseball team saw six players honored for their work on the field this season. PJ Craig, Nick Shuhet, Charley Magoulick, and Kyle Neri all earned First-Team All-MAAC honors with Christian Aiello and Erich Hartmann being named to the All-MAAC Second Team.
 
Craig earns First-Team All-MAAC honors for the second time in his career after going 7-3 with a 3.84 ERA this season, finishing second in the MAAC in wins and seventh in the conference in ERA. The senior finished third in the MAAC with 76 strikeouts in 79.2 innings. In conference play, Craig was even better, going 6-2 with a 3.46 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 65.0 innings.
 
Shuhet hit .343, with five home runs, a team-high five triples, and team-high 15 doubles. He also finished second on the team with 45 RBIs. Shuhet's five triples led the MAAC and ranked 19th in the country. Shuhet was seventh in the conference in batting average. The junior was at his best in conference play, hitting .381 with five homers, five triples, and 36 RBIs to earn his first career conference honor.
 
Magoulick nabs his first All-Conference nod after finishing the season second on the team, hitting .344 with a team-best nine home runs and 46 RBIs. The sophomore hit .341 in league games with five of his nine home runs coming off conference opponents.
 
Neri made the most of his redshirt-junior season, earning his second-straight First-Team All-MAAC honor, leading the Broncs with a .348 average and 69 hits. Neri hit five homers and was second on the team with 45 RBIs. Neri finished the regular season second in the MAAC in hits and sixth in the conference in batting average.
 
Aiello was dominant on the mound for the Broncs this season, going 7-2 with a 3.38 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 48.0 innings. The senior had a team-low 1.19 WHIP. In conference play, Aiello was 6-1 with a 2.77 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 39.0 innings. He led the MAAC at 11.81 strikeouts per nine innings, was second in the MAAC with his seven wins and 1.19 WHIP and third in the league with his 3.38 ERA.
 
Hartmann was the steadying presence near the top of the Rider lineup this season, hitting .330 with six home runs and 36 RBIs. He was second on the team and 10th in the MAAC with 45 runs scored.
