Lacrosse Defeated at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, CT – The Rider University women's lacrosse team was defeated Wednesday afternoon, falling 19-6 at Quinnipiac. The Broncs fall to 1-14 on the season and 0-6 in MAAC play, while the Bobcats improve to 8-6 on the year and 3-3 in league games.
 
After falling behind 4-0, the Broncs got on the board when Kaleigh Colleary (Buffalo, NY/Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart[Butler]) found the back of the cage midway through the first. The Bobcats would add a pair to lead 6-1 after the opening quarter.
 
Quinnipiac would extend the lead to 8-1 when Colleary scored her second of the game. Trailing 10-2, Madi Eollo (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) scored before Colleary completed her first-half hat trick to trim the lead to 10-4. The Bobcats would lead 12-4 at the half.
 
The second half began much like the first, with Quinnipiac scoring five-straight to push the lead to 17-4 when Colleary scored her fourth of the contest to close out the scoring in the third.
 
Hannah Kozik (Ellington, CT/Ellington) opened the scoring in the fourth, trimming the Rider deficit to 17-6. The Bobcats regained control after, scoring the game's final two goals to secure the win.

- Jamie Kubach (Philadelphia, PA/William Penn Charter[FDU-Florham]) got the start in net, playing all 60 minutes and making nine saves, taking the loss.
