Monmouth jumped out to an early advantage, plating two runs in the first before adding three in both the third and fourth innings to build an 8-0 lead.

Rider broke through in the top of the fifth. Will Gallagher drew a leadoff walk, and Kyle Neri followed with a one-out single to right to put two aboard. Charley Magoulick then delivered an RBI single to right, bringing home the Broncs' first run of the game.

The Broncs added another in the sixth, capitalizing on a Monmouth error to cut the deficit to 8-2.
