Men’s Track & Field Posts Strong Performances Across Two-Meet Weekend

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Rider men's track and field team split action between the Penn Relays and the Lions Invitational, delivering a strong day of performances across both meets. The Broncs advanced a relay squad to the Eastern Finals in Philadelphia while also securing multiple individual event victories at the Lions Invitational on Friday afternoon.


Penn Relays
Day two of the Penn Relays was highlighted by the 4x100 relay quartet of Trey Cummings, Julian Onesti, Camryn Thomas, and Blake Johnson, who advanced to the Eastern Finals with a time of 42.11.

Lions Invite
Michael Bynes led the way, winning the 400m hurdles in 55.10.

Ethan Peffley claimed first in the 800m, finishing in 1:51.69.

Jared Vorhees rounded out the wins, taking the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:53.68.

"We had a great day today. So many standout performances and a lot of progress were made by the athletes. I'm really excited that they took advantage of the great weather and opportunity. 

It was nice to see more young guys get some wins today. Michael Bynes took a big step forward in the 400 hurdles. He's really been working hard over the last few weeks, and it paid off today. 

Ethan had another big day today, getting the win in the 800. Every week, he is ready to step up with another big performance. 

Jared got a nice win in the steeple, and the guys in the throws had some nice PRs. Damere, Savien, and Ben put a lot of good things together today." - Rider Director of Cross Country, Track & Field Bob Hamer.
