Men’s Tennis Clinches Playoff Berth, Blanks Mount St. Mary’s

HERSHEY, PA — Men's Tennis earned its third consecutive berth in the MAAC Championships after defeating Mount St. Mary's 5-0 on Monday afternoon.

The Broncs began the afternoon with a couple of wins in doubles, as Matteus Froberg Dahlin and Cole Thurgur cruised to a 6-1 victory, and the tandem of Axel Engstrom and Roger Martinez earned a 6-3 decision. The Broncs are now 6-0 in conference matches when they secure the doubles point.

In singles, Matthew Griscti led the way for the Broncs on court six, earning a dominant 6-1, 6-0 decision. Nathan Slattery extended his win streak in singles to eleven with an impressive 6-3, 6-0 victory of his own. Dahlin and Martinez earned straight-set victories as well to clinch the match for the Broncs, resulting in Thurgur's and Engstrom's matches ending before completion.

With the win, men's tennis has clinched the No. 2 seed in the MAAC – the highest in program history. They will face Quinnipiac on April 25th in the first round of the 2026 MAAC Men's Tennis Championships. Quinnipiac defeated Rider in last year's championship match, but the Broncs earned a 5-2 win over the Bobcats last Sunday in their final home match of the season. The winner will advance to play in the MAAC Championship Final on Sunday afternoon.
