QUEENS, N.Y. -- Rider Women's Tennis was defeated by the St. John's Red Storm 7-0 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
In the doubles matches, both tandems of
Daniela Naves and
Jolie Kaiser as well as
Lisa Dierick and
Kashish Kant were defeated 6-3, while the duo of
Samantha Killin and
Sofia Gutierrez lost 6-2.
In singles, Dierick was the lone Bronc to record a set win, but fell to Victoria Papadopoulou 6-2, 4-6, 10-5. Kaiser, Naves, and Kant each came close in the first set, winning 4 games in their respective matches, but came up short. Additionally,
Anna Bong and
Elle Catanzarite both lost their matches 6-0, 6-2.
Rider Women's Tennis will be on hiatus in head-to-head competition until March 8, when they visit the Monmouth Hawks.
