What You Need To Know
- Rider returns to MAAC play Sunday, when it plays host to Siena.
- For the second consecutive year, Rider's radio station 107.7 The Bronc will broadcast a pregame show called "The Hype" live from the Student Recreation Center Atrium starting one hour prior to tip. "The Hype", hosted by Rider students CJ Jackson and Dante Walker, will start at the top of the hour and air for about 45 minutes before the show transfers courtside for the game broadcast. "The Hype" will feature a look at the upcoming game and feature special guests discussing the keys to the game. Listen to Rider basketball and "The Hype" on 107.7 The Bronc Retro WRRC2 or via www.1077TheBronc.com, via the app on Apple and Apple CarPlay, Google Play and Android Auto, Alexa, Audacy, and MyTuner.
- Rider had a brutal early-season schedule, falling at Power 5 schools Virginia, Rutgers, Texas and then-Nationally-ranked No. 2 Houston. The Broncs were also sent on the road to begin MAAC play, falling to Merrimack and Quinnipiac, while also falling at Delaware and VCU.
- The Broncs earned a win in their home opener Nov. 15 against Division III Eastern University.
- Rider's offense looks to be turning a corner - after going the season's first nine Division I games without more than nine assists in a single game, the Broncs have posted double-digits in each of the last three, including a season-high 17 vs. Manhattan (Dec. 29).
-
Davis Bynum (19 points, 7 rebounds) and
Shemani Fuller (18 points, 14 rebounds) both had career-best games vs. Manhattan (Dec. 29).
Flash Burton joined the group with 18 points.
-
Caleb Smith has posted two double-doubles - at Rutgers and vs. Coppin State, while coming up a point shy of his third (9 pts, 10 reb) at Merrimack.
- While Siena owns a 39-23 lead in the all-time series with the Broncs, Rider has won the last three, including two last season in dramatic fashion.
Tank Byard beat the buzzer on Feb. 8 in Lawrenceville, before
Tariq Ingraham's lay-up off a pick and roll with
Flash Burton gave Rider the game-winning bucket with 0.7 seconds left in the MAAC Championship Opening Round.
- Gavin Doty leads Siena at 16.0 ppg., while grabbing 6.6 rpg., second only to Tasman Goodrick's 7.3 rpg. Justice Shoats (11.7 ppg., 4.9 apg.) and Francis Folefac (10.0 ppg.) have also averaged in double figures, while Goodrick and Antonio Chandler have each added 9.7 ppg.
- The Broncs were picked 10th in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- 14th-year Head Coach
Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 207-213 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) has more head coaching wins at Rider.
- All remaining Rider men's and women's home games this season, along with select road games, will be broadcast on 107.7 The Bronc Retro WRRC2. Tune in online at
