EASTON, PA – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team picked up a dual meet win Thursday night in their regular season finale, topping Lafayette, 165-134. The Broncs improve to 4-4 on the year.
Rider won nine events in the meet.
To open the meet,
Riley Rowan (Simpsonville, SC/Clonlara),
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
Tivon Benjamin (Palm Bay, FL/St. Anthony's Secondary School), and
Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) swam 1:31.57 in the 200-medley relay to earn the victory.
The Broncs swept the 100-back with
Sebastian Canosa (Morristown, NJ/Morristown), Rowan, and
Zach McKatten (West Milford, NJ/Passaic County Technical Vocational School), swimming 50.87, 51.49, and 52.12.
Ruddy and
Maxwell Connelly (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) went one-two in the 100-breast with times of 55.45 and 55.92. Ruddy added another win in the 50-free, stopping the clock at 21.27. Connelly beat out Ruddy in the 200-breast with the duo still finishing one-two with times of 2:01.42 and 2:05.02.
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) won the 200-fly, touching the wall at 1:53.86. Rogowski then led a sweep of the 100-fly with Benjamin and
James Bugianesi (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). The trio touched the wall in 50.27, 50.28, and 51.09.
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield) won the 100-free in 46.08.
In the 200-back,
Joey Milhomens (Wolcott, CT/Wolcott) and Canosa swam one-two with times of 1:51.39 and 1:53.37.
