PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Rider University field hockey team was defeated Friday afternoon in Philadelphia, falling to Drexel, 5-0. The Broncs drop to 1-3 on the season, while the Dragons improve to 3-2.
Rider got the game's first quality scoring chance on a corner just over five minutes into the game, but
Valeria Perales' (Madrid, Spain/IES Mirasierra) shot deflection went wide. The Dragons eventually got on the board first, scoring late in both the first quarter, then again in the second to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The second half was much like the first with the Dragons adding on a goal in the third, and two in the fourth to produce the final score.
