What You Need To Know
- Friday's game at Colgate will be the season opener for both teams.
- The Broncs were picked to finish third in the NEC Preseason Coaches Poll under new head coach Gina Carey-Smith. Rider finished second in the NEC last season.
- Rider has won five-straight season openers, defeating Colgate, 5-1, last season, Central Michigan, 4-3, in 2023, Bellarmine, 4-1, in 2022, La Salle, 3-2, in overtime in 2021, and LIU, 1-0, in the spring 2021 campaign.
- Rider returns a pair of First-Team All-NEC performers from a season ago in Valeria Perales (Madrid, Spain/IES Mirasierra) and Megan Normile (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt), who were both named to the NFHCA 2025 Collegiate Watchlist, powered by Performance Sports Events.
- Perales was second on the Broncs in goals and points last season, finishing the year with 10 goals and 22 points in just 12 games. Normile was third on the team with nine goals last season, while also leading the squad with three defensive saves.
- Other key returners in the field include Semra Said (Mannheim, Germany/Feudenheim Gymnasium Mannheim), Emma Bonshak (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall), Ang Borisow (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Kate Mahmud (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West), Amanda Walker (Stockton, NJ/Hunterdon Central), and Anna Finn (Windsor, NY/Windsor Central).
- Jade Regnart (Cape Town, South Africa/Fairmont) returns as Rider's primary goalie after starting all 19 games, and playing 1,120 of 1,150 minutes last season. Moira Geiger (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) remains on the team after playing the balance of last season in goal.
- Rider's roster features players from four different countries, Germany, South Africa, Spain, and the United States.
- Rider leads the all-time series over Colgate 17-13, including the Broncs' win in the season opener last season. Said had two first-half assists in the win last season.
- Colgate finished 4-13 last season. Morgan Willis in the Raiders top offensive returner, after scoring three goals and adding three assists in 2024.
