Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Tabbed Third in MAAC Preseason Poll

EDISON, NJ – The Rider University men's and women's cross country teams were both selected third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office.

Men
Perennial powerhouse Iona earned the top spot in the men's preseason poll with 169 points and all 13 first-place votes. Siena followed in second with 150 points, just ahead of Rider with 143. Merrimack (123) and Marist (119) rounded out the top five.

The Broncs are led by Dominik Lisicky, the lone returner who placed inside the top 25 at the 2024 MAAC Championships.

Women
Defending champion Quinnipiac topped the women's poll with 166 points, securing 10 of the 13 first-place votes as the Bobcats look to capture their fourth straight MAAC crown. Iona finished second with 155 points and the remaining three first-place votes, followed by Rider (135), Siena (123), and Marist (118) to complete the top five.

Rider brings back its top finishers from last year's MAAC Championships, including Liz Fis and Makala Hansen, along with Maddie Dischert, who was named MAAC Most Outstanding Rookie in 2023.

The Broncs open the 2025 season on August 29th at the Temple XC Invite.
