Hailey Palmer (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and sophomore baseball second baseman
Joe Tiroly (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) have been selected McGriff Rider Athletes of the Month for May.
Palmer had a standout performance in leading Rider to its third-straight MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, earning MAAC Track Most Outstanding Performer. She earned three gold medals in the 400 meters and both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays, while also taking bronze in the 200 meters. She ran the 400 in a personal-best 55.28 seconds, while contributing to the gold-medal-winning and MAAC-record performances in relays that posted times of 46.24 (4x100) and 3:45.78 (4x400). She also ran the 200 in a bronze-medal time of 24.67 seconds.
The 2025 MAAC Baseball Player of the Year, Tiroly hit .419 (13-31) with a .486 on-base percentage, three doubles, two home runs, seven runs scored, 10 RBI's and two stolen bases over the final eight games of the regular season to lead the Broncs to their first MAAC Regular Season Championship since 2015. He tied the program single-season RBI record (60, AJ Albee in 2010) with his first run batted in of the month on May 2 at Army, before breaking it with a two-RBI game in the Broncs' series opener vs. Canisius (May 9). Tiroly's new record finished at 70.
