Hailey Palmer (South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) and baseball sophomore second baseman
Joe Tiroly (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) have been honored as the 2024-25 Rider University Clair Bee Athletes of the Year. Palmer led the Broncs to a pair of MAAC Championships, earning Track Most Outstanding Performer in the outdoor season, while Tiroly earned ABCA/Rawlings Third-Team All-America and MAAC Player of the Year honors in leading the baseball team to its first MAAC Regular Season Championship since 2015.
Palmer won gold in the 400m, 4x100 and 4x400 at MAAC Outdoor Championships to earn Track Most Outstanding Performer honors as the Broncs won their third-straight outdoor title. She also took bronze in the 200m at MAAC Outdoor Championships, while earning Indoor All-East with 4x400 relay team. At MAAC Indoor Championships, she won silver in both the 400 and 4x400, again pushing the Broncs to a third-straight MAAC title.
Tiroly had one of the most highly-decorated seasons in Rider Baseball history. In addition to All-America Third Team and MAAC Player of the Year honors, he was named First-Team All-Region and was the only unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team. Tiroly started all 52 games for the Broncs and led the team and the league in nearly every major offensive category. He batted .377 and racked up a team-high 75 hits, 70 RBIs, 18 home runs, 66 runs scored, and 16 doubles. His 70 RBIs and 66 runs scored both set new program single-season records. He posted a .749 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage, cementing his place as one of the top hitters in the region. He ranked 17
