GREENSBORO, NC – Joe Tiroly and
Brian Young represented the Rider baseball team, having been named ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region, earning the prestigious selection for the first time in their careers. The announcement, made Tuesday morning by the organization, also places both players on the ballot for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors, which will be announced on June 13.
Joe Tiroly, the 2025 MAAC Player of the Year, delivered a historic sophomore campaign at the plate. The only unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team, Tiroly started all 52 games for the Broncs and led the team in nearly every major offensive category. He posted a .377 batting average and racked up a team-high 75 hits, 70 RBIs, 18 home runs, 66 runs scored, and 16 doubles. His 70 RBIs and 66 runs scored both set new program records. Tiroly also had an impressive .749 slugging percentage and a .481 on-base percentage, cementing his place as one of the top hitters in the region.
The selection comes after
Brian Young was named the 2025 MAAC Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-MAAC selection. Young appeared in 14 games, all starts, and posted a 2.83 ERA over 89.0 innings pitched. The senior recorded a perfect 9-0 record while striking out 73 batters, surpassing 200 career strikeouts at Army (5/2). Young pitched two complete-game shutouts at Marist (4/25) and Canisius (5/9), with a season-high eight strikeouts in the game at Marist.
