Baseball Set to Host Mount St. Mary's for Weekend Series

What You Need to Know
- The Rider baseball team welcomes Mount St. Mary's to Sonny Pittaro field in a three-game series. 
- Due to weather, there will be a doubleheader on Friday, with the final game scheduled for Saturday.

About the Broncs
- The Broncs team earned a single first-place vote and was selected second ahead of the 2025 season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Sophomore second baseman Joe Tiroly, outfielder Kyle Neri, and pitcher PJ Craigwere named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
- The Broncs return five starters from a season ago led by 2024 2nd Team All-MAAC selection Joe Tiroly and 2024 MAAC All-Rookie team honoree Kyle Neri.
- Tiroly finished with his 2024 campaign with a .284 batting average along with 44 runs scored, 46 hits, 42 RBIs, and 10 home runs.
- Kyle Neri leads the teams, batting .400, with 38 hits, 29 RBIs and five homeruns.
- Joe Tiroly has a team-best of 31 RBIs and eight homeruns.
- Brian Young has been stellar on the mound for the Broncs with a 3.28 ERA, pitching 35.2 innings, allowing 39 hits, 13 earned runs, and 34 strikeouts along with a 4-0 record.

Last Time Out
- Rider's coming off a big 11-1 win over Villanova to advance to their third consecutive Liberty Bell Classic Championship game appearance. 
- Chris Montone earned the win for the Broncs, moving him to 1-1 on the year.
- Nick Shuhet recorded his fifth homerun of the season.
- The Broncs had ten hits in the victory with Matt Leahy, Peter Crespo, Anthony Paskell, and Charley Magoulick each recording a hit. 
- Neri, Erich Hartmann, and Nick Shuhet each had two hits. 
- Hartmann, Magoulick, and Will Gallagher each had an RBI.
- Crespo had two RBIs, while Paskell led the Broncs with three RBIs.

- The Mountaineers are coming off a 2-1 series victory over Merrimack last week but dropped a mid-week battle with George Washington 6-5.

- Mateo Zeppieri leads the Mountaineers with seven home runs this year.
