JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Rider University women's tennis team fell at North Florida, 7-0, to wrap up its Spring Break trip in Florida Friday. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 6-7, while the Ospreys improve to 8-5.
After the Ospreys swept the doubles point with a pair of 6-2 wins at Nos. 1 and 3 and a 6-0 victory at No. 2, North Florida kept the momentum rolling with six straight-sets decisions in singles.
Laila Fishman (Marlboro, NJ/Marlboro) played the most competitive match for the Broncs, falling to Laurie Barendse, 7-6, 6-2, at No. 1.
Claire Brown (Duluth, GA/Northview) also pushed Nicole Alfaro Solis at No. 3, but fell, 6-4, 6-4.
The Broncs return to action Wednesday, when they travel to Saint Joseph's. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
