LAKELAND, FL – Dhruv Tangri (Punjab, India/Cambridge International School) and
Matteus Froberg Dahlin (Lidingo, Sweden/Hersby Gymnasium) won twice each as the Rider University men's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Morgan State Thursday morning. With the win, the Broncs improve to 4-9, while the Bears fall to 3-10.
Tangri and Froberg Dahlin paired on a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles over Niles Rachal and Makkijha Brown, while
Cole Thurgur (Ottawa, Ontario/Nepean) and
Ibragim Turgambekov (Almaty, Kazakhstan) took a 6-4 victory at No. 2 over Mikeal Carpenter and Bertin Karenzi to take the point.
The Broncs went on to win four of six singles flights to earn the 5-2 win. Tangri defeated Carpenter, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1, while Froberg Dahlin picked up his double win with a 6-2, 6-2, victory over Brown at No. 2.
Cooper Dillon (Brisbane, Australia/Laurel Springs) cruised past Yessine Kerouat, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5, while
Roger Martinez (Girona, Spain/Saint George's School) got past Mohamed Ridha Ghettas, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 6.
The Broncs wrap up their Spring Break trip to Florida Friday, when they travel to North Florida for a 2 p.m. first serve.
