What You Need to Know
- The Rider University baseball team opens up the 2025 season against Campbell this weekend. The opening game of the series on Friday will now be played at 3 p.m. instead of the original 5 p.m. time. 

About the Broncs
- The Broncs return five starters from a season ago led by 2024 2nd Team All-MAAC selection Joe Tiroly and 2024 MAAC All-Rookie team honoree Kyle Neri.
- Tiroly finished with his 2024 campaign with a .284 batting average along with 44 runs scored, 46 hits, 42 RBIs, and 10 home runs.
- Neri delivered an outstanding performance for the Broncs last season, finishing second on the team with a .312 batting average. The redshirt sophomore totaled 27 runs, 48 hits, and six home runs during the 2024 campaign.
- PJ Craig, Brian Young, and Clayton Poliey return for the Broncs on the mound in 2025.
- Craig, a First Team-All-MAAC selection, posted a 7-3 record, tying for the team lead in wins. He totaled 57 strikeouts a season ago with a career-high of nine strikeouts against Maine.
- Along with Craig, Clayton Poliey returns for Rider who saw 64 innings on the mound in 2024 posting a 4-3 record along with 51 strikeouts. The junior posted a season-best of eight strikeouts vs Duke last season.
- Rider finished 28-23 overall in 2024 with an 18-6 conference record.
- The Broncs team earned a single first-place vote and was selected second ahead of the 2025 season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll. Sophomore second baseman Joe Tiroly, outfielder Kyle Neri, and pitcher PJ Craig were named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team.
- Rider won their fourth MAAC Championship in 2023, all under Head Coach Dr. Barry Davis, and reached their ninth appearance in the MAAC Championship Game.
- Entering his first season as Interim Head Coach is Lee Lipinski, who's been on the Broncs hitting coach for seven years.
- Lipinski joined Davis' staff for the 2018 season after a five-year playing career at Rider, during which the two-time captain amassed 115 career hits, 14 career home runs, 80 RBIs, and touted a .706 OPS, helping the Broncs win two MAAC Regular Season Championships and reach the MAAC Tournament three times.

History vs Campbell
- The Broncs trail the Fighting Camels 3-9 in all-time series history with the last matchup coming in 2018 where Rider defeated Campbell 13-4 in Buies Creek.

About Campbell
- Chris Marx enters his first season as head coach of the baseball program. 
- Campbell opened up the 2025 season against No. 22 UC Santa Barbara, falling 0-3 in the weekend series but then earned a 3-2 victory over East Carolina on Tuesday.
- The Fighting Camels posted a 32-11 overall record along with a 12-15 record in the CAA conference.
- Senior outfielder Dalen Thompson and catcher Andrew Schuldt were named to the All- CAA Preseason Team as honorable mentions.
- In 2024, Thompson was second on the team hitting a .313 along with 10 HRs and 47 RBIs.
- Schuldt finished third on the team posting a .303 batting average with 7 HRs and 39 RBIs.
- Pitchers Zach Sabers and Cole Peschl were among Campbell's leaders from a season ago with Saber totaling 50 strikeouts and Peschl striking out 83 batters.
