What You Need To Know
- Rider returns to action Friday, when it travels to Iona, which has won five of its last six games.
- Tank Byard's buzzer-beating putback gave the Broncs a 61-59 win over Siena on Feb. 8 at Alumni Gym. The play pushed Byard's stat line to 10 points and a season-best nine rebounds in a season-high 24 minutes.
- T.J. Weeks Jr. has been the Broncs' leading scorer, averaging 13.3 points per game. He's scored in double figures 20 times in 23 games played, including a season-high 23 points vs. Siena.
- Rider is 8-1 this season when holding the opposition to fewer than 72 points. The loss to Merrimack was the Broncs' first when allowing fewer than 72.
- The Broncs held off Saint Peter's, 67-64 Jan. 31 for Head Coach Kevin Baggett's 200th career victory, all at Rider. He became the fourth coach to win 200 games with a MAAC program or programs and just the second to accomplish the feat at a single MAAC institution.
- Iona took the first game of this year's series, 73-67, Jan. 25 at Alumni Gym.The Gaels lead the series, 47-29. The Broncs' last win at Hynes Athletic Center came Jan. 25, 2023, when Rider snapped the Gaels' 21-game home winning streak.
- DeJour Reaves leads the Gaels at 15.9 points per game, while Adam Njie also averages in double figures at 11.6 ppg. to go along with a team-best 3.7 assists per game. Yaphet Moundi (8.0 ppg.) has led the Gaels in rebounding (6.7 rpg.), including a 25-point, 20-rebound performance on Feb. 2 vs. Fairfield. Clarence Rupert (6.6 ppg., 4.4 rpg.), part of the 2022 Saint Peter's Elite 8 team, also transferred to Iona after the last two seasons at Southern Illinois.
 - The Broncs were picked seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- 13th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 201-198 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
