- No. 20 Tyler Klinsky delivered the highlight of the dual, earning a dominant 20–11 major decision over No. 9 Jett Strickenberger at 125 lbs.
- Unranked Dylan Layton also impressed, knocking off No. 23 Willie McDougald with a gritty 5–2 win in tie breakers.

- Rider Associate Head Coach Nic Bedelyon is no stranger to the Cliff Keen Invite—he captured the tournament title in 2011 while wrestling for Kent State.

- Rider took 20th overall in last year's team standings with six wrestlers in the field.
