What You Need To Know
- Rider begins conference play in earnest Monday, when it welcomes Manhattan.
- For the second consecutive year, Rider's radio station 107.7 The Bronc will broadcast a pregame show called "The Hype" live from the Student Recreation Center Atrium starting one hour prior to tip. "The Hype", hosted by Rider students CJ Jackson and Dante Walker, will start at the top of the hour and air for about 45 minutes before the show transfers courtside for the game broadcast. "The Hype" will feature a look at the upcoming game and feature special guests discussing the keys to the game.  Listen to Rider basketball and "The Hype" on 107.7 The Bronc Retro WRRC2 or via www.1077TheBronc.com, via the app on Apple and Apple CarPlay, Google Play and Android Auto, Alexa, Audacy, and MyTuner.
- Rider had a brutal early-season schedule, falling at Power 5 schools Virginia, Rutgers, Texas and then-Nationally-ranked No. 2 Houston. The Broncs were also sent on the road to begin MAAC play, falling to Merrimack and Quinnipiac, while also falling at Delaware and VCU.
- The Broncs earned a win in their home opener Nov. 15 against Division III Eastern University.
- Rider fell at VCU, 100-79, on Dec. 22. The 79 points and 14 assists were both season highs for the Broncs against a Division I team. Shemani Fuller led the Broncs with 15 points, while Zion Cruz contributed 13 points and six assists.
- The Broncs erased a 12-point second-half deficit to tie the game with 2:09 left at Delaware on Dec. 16. But the Blue Hens scored 10 of the final 12 points to take the victory.
- Caleb Smith has posted two double-doubles - at Rutgers and vs. Coppin State, while coming up a point shy of his third (9 pts, 10 reb) at Merrimack.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Manhattan, 39-27. The Broncs had won five straight against Manhattan prior to an 80-79 heartbreaking setback to the Jaspers last Jan. 5 at Alumni Gym on Jaden Winston's deep three-pointer with 6.8 seconds remaining. The loss was the only meeting between the two teams last year.
Jaden Winston leads Manhattan at 15.2 ppg., 3.5 apg. and 2.5 spg. Devin Dinkins (14.6 ppg.), Fraser Roxburgh (11.3 ppg. 6.1 rpg.) and Terrance Jones (10.8 ppg.) also average in double figures, while Anthony Isaac (9.8 ppg., 6.4 rpg.) just misses the mark.
- The Broncs were picked 10th (13 teams) in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- 14th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 207-212 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) has more head coaching wins at Rider.
- All remaining Rider men's and women's home games this season, along with select road games, will be broadcast on 107.7 The Bronc Retro WRRC2. Tune in online at 1077TheBronc.com, or download our free Google PlayApple, Alexa, Audacy and MyTuner apps and skills. Search and download: WRRC2.
