What You Need To Know
- Rider returns to action Saturday, when it plays host to Eastern University. 
- Enhanced concessions will be offered. Alcohol sales will include beer and seltzers which will be sold at a separate point of sale and area in the Broncs Fan Zone, distinct from the regular concession stand. Fans must be 21 years of age or older, will be required to show an ID and will be given a wristband upon purchase. There will be a limit of one alcoholic beverage per person with ID each purchase. Alcohol sales will begin 90 minutes prior to tipoff at select men's basketball games and end with 10 minutes left on the game clock in the second half. ALCOHOL SALES WILL BE CARD ONLY. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR ALCOHOL.
- For the second consecutive year, Rider's radio station 107.7 The Bronc will broadcast a pregame show called "The Hype" live from the Student Recreation Center Atrium starting one hour prior to tip. "The Hype", hosted by Rider students CJ Jackson and Dante Walker, will start at the top of the hour and air for about 45 minutes before the show transfers courtside for the game broadcast. - The Broncs fell in consecutive road match-ups with Power 4 opponents to open the season at Virginia (87-53, Nov. 3) and Rutgers (81-53, Nov. 5). 
- Caleb Smith was a bright spot at Rutgers, posting a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Flash Burton filled the stat sheet at Virginia, going for 17 points and six boards.
- The Broncs return four players from last year's squad, including starters Zion Cruz and Flash Burton.
- Cruz was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team after averaging 10.1 ppg. in 2024-25. He shot 35.6 percent from beyond the three-point arc, best on the team among those with more than 1.0 three-point field goal made per game and 15th in the MAAC. He scored in double figures 16 times.
- Burton averaged 7.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, posting a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio (15th-MAAC). He started 24 of 30 games played in 2024-25.
- Also back is Cole McCabe, who played in 26 games, including one start, as a true freshman. Sophomore reserve Maurizio D'Alessandro has also returned.
- Rider also welcomes 10 newcomers to the squad. The class includes seven transfer student-athletes, including five with previous Division I experience and three freshmen. Transfers Davis Bynum, Mohamad Diallo, Shemani Fuller, Daniel Helterhoff, Caleb Smith, Devean Williams and Antwan Wilson join true freshmen AB Coulibaly, Kristupas Kepežinskas and Jamir McNeil.
- The Broncs were picked 10th of 13 teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- 14th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 206-204 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) has more head coaching wins at Rider.
