CHESTNUT HILL, MA – The Rider University women's basketball team was defeated, 92-52, Wednesday night at Boston College. The Broncs fall to 1-1 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 3-1 on the year.

The Eagles jumped out in front early. Following a bucket from Emmy Roach (Littlehampton, Australia/Heathfield) that made it 3-2 Boston College, the Eagles responded with a 10-0 run. Then up 16-6, the Eagles closed out the opening quarter on a 15-3 run to lead 31-9 after 10 minutes.

Aliya McIver (White Plains, NY/White Plains) knocked down a three to open the second quarter, but Boston College extended the lead with seven-straight points, then leading 41-16 the Eagles ended the half on an 8-0 run to lead 49-16 at the half.

After McIver drained a three to make it 60-30, the Eagles went on a 10-0 run to extend the lead. Rider countered with an 8-2 run, including threes from Alena Cofield (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and Daniya Brown (Fairfax, VA/Bishop O'Connell) and Boston College led 76-40 after three quarters.

The Eagles would score the first six points of the fourth, but baskets by Kristina Ekofo (Brussels, Belgium/ Établissement Des Soeurs De Notre Dame[North Dakota State University/Northeastern Oklahoma A&M]), Amany Lopez (Springfield, MA/South Shore Christian Prep), and Claudia Lazaro-Carrasco (Madrid, Spain/Ortega y Gasset) quickly countered the run. Boston College maintained the edge, producing the final score.
