LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Senior field hockey forward Valeria Perales (Madrid, Spain/IES Mirasierra) and sophomore men's tennis player Matteus Froberg Dahlin (Lidingo, Sweden/Hersby Gymnasium) have been selected McGriff Rider Athletes of the Month for October.

Perales earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Offensive Player of the Week on October 8 after scoring twice in consecutive games to open the month vs. Mercyhurst and La Salle. She later contributed three goals and two assists in a Senior Night victory over LIU, before scoring twice on Halloween as the Broncs defeated Wagner, 4-3, in the regular-season finale, clinching an NEC Tournament berth. For the month, Perales scored nine goals, added four assists and totaled 22 points, earning NEC Offensive Player of the Week twice.

Froberg Dahlin earns the honor for the second-straight month. He opened October by winning the MAAC Masters Singles Championship. Over the three-day tournament, the third-seeded Froberg Dahlin won four matches, defeating Martin Macias of Sacred Heart, Kostas Kollias of Fairfield, Ian Layton of Marist and Siena's Sviatoslav Koliadynskyi. Froberg Dahlin posted a 5-2 singles mark on the month, also earning a win over Hofstra's Hideki Matsuoka at the ITA Northeast Regionals. With his MAAC Masters Championship, Froberg Dahlin clinched a spot in the ITA Conference Masters Championships in early November in San Diego, CA.
