COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – After already being named NEC Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday, Rider University's
Valeria Perales added to her trophy case Wednesday morning, being selected as NFHCA Division I Offensive Player of the Week after her performance over the past seven days. Perales becomes the first player in program history to receive an NFHCA National Weekly honor.
Perales scored twice in both of Rider's victories in the past week. Against Mercyhurst, the senior scored the game's second and fifth goals, helping the Broncs build a 5-0 lead in a conference game eventually won 5-1. In Rider's win at La Salle, Perales scored the game-tying goal with just over nine minutes to play, followed by putting home the game-winner in double overtime.
The Broncs are back in action Friday, when they host Saint Francis. Game time is 7 p.m.
