LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ– The Rider University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up dual meet competition Thursday night, defeating Lafayette, 123-116. The Broncs close out the year at 2-5 on the season, while the Leopards drop to an equal 2-5.
Rider won seven events in the meet.
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy),
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
Nelson Paraison (Newark, NJ/Hackensack), and
Cesar Alvarez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/The Ashton School) won the 200-medley relay to open the night.
Alvarez got the Broncs first individual win of the night swimming one-two with
Derek Fantano (Morris, CT/Holy Cross) in the 50-free with times of 21.13 and 21.70. Fantano would get a win of his own in the 500-free with a time of 4:44.25.
Rider got a sweep in the 100-breast, with Ruddy,
Matthew Borovik (Deerfield, IL/Deerfield), and
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) stopping the clock at 55.22, 57.72, and 57.83.
Lane and
James Bugianesi (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) got a one-two finish in the 100-fly, swimming 50.74 and 51.15.
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa) and
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield) finished one-two in the 100-free with times of 46.68 and 47.01.
Riley Rowan (Simpsonville, SC/Clonlara) won the 100-back in 50.78.
