BUFFALO, NY – On Saturday afternoon, the Rider women's soccer team fell to the Golden Griffins of Canisius, 2-0. Both teams threatened on the attack in the first half, but neither team could find the back of the net. With the loss, the Broncs fall to 1-5-2 on the season, still seeking their first conference win. Canisius outshot the Broncs 14-5 with a 8-1 advantage on goal
The Broncs started the game strong with three shots from three players in the first half.
Ava DeGeorge had a shot on goal that was saved by the Canisius keeper in the 24th minute.
Ellie Sciancalepore recorded three saves in the first half to keep it scoreless after 45 minutes of play.
Canisius came out in the second half strong scoring two goals in less than a minute in the 51st minute.
Ava Ferrie and
Courtney Carter attempted shots late in the second half but Broncs failed to find the back of the net, as Canisius held on for the 2-0 victory.
