EDISON, NJ – Rider University junior sprinter/jumper
Mariah Stephens (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) has been named MAAC Women's Indoor Field Performer of the Week, the league office today announced.
Stephens won the long jump at the Big Apple Invitational in 5.76m. It is an ECAC qualifying mark and the #1 mark in the MAAC this season. It is also #3 mark all-time at Rider. In addition to her field accomplishments, Stephens also ran 7.74 in the 60m at the Big Apple Invitational. It was the top time in the prelims (she did not run the final), #2 time in the MAAC this season, and an ECAC qualifying mark. She finished 3rd in the 60 hurdles running 8.77. She ran 8.90 in the prelims. Both are ECAC qualifying marks. She is #1 in the MAAC in the 60 hurdles and #2 in the MAAC in the 60m this season.
The Broncs return to action Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 24-25, when they defend their MAAC Championship at the 168
th Street Armory in New York City.
