EDISON, NJ – Rider University has been selected as the favorite in both of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Coaches' Poll, the league announced Monday morning.
For the third consecutive year, the men have swept the poll by receiving all ten first-place votes for a total of 100 points. In last year's season, the Broncs claimed the program's third title ever at the indoor championships, winning back to back. The Broncs came into day two of the 2024 MAAC Championships in first place with 75 points, only to continue their success into day two of the competition, finishing with 190 points to claim the programs' third title.
2024 MAAC runner-up, Iona University was selected to finish second behind the Broncs, receiving 86 points, while Mount St. Mary's University (76), Merrimack College (62), Manhattan University (60) rounded out the top five.
On the women's side, the Broncs received a total of 120 points, collecting ten first- place votes. In the 2024 championships, Rider secured four gold medals, scoring 179.5 points. The 2024 title was the Broncs' second consecutive title, third in the last four years, and fourth overall in program history, having won MAAC indoor titles in 2007, 2020, 2023 and 2024.
2024 MAAC runner-up, Quinnipiac University was selected to finish second behind the Broncs, receiving 110 points and one first-place vote, while Mount St. Mary's (88), Sacred Heart (74), and Manhattan (73) rounded out the top five.
The Broncs open the 2024-25 season on Dec. 6 at the Fastrack Opener in Staten Island, NY.
The 2025 MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 22-23, 2025, at the Nike Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York, New York. The two-day meet will be hosted by Manhattan College and will be held at The Armory for the 21st consecutive year dating back to 2004.
