RIVERDALE, NY– The Rider University volleyball team won their sixth-straight match, and extended their winning streak to 18-straight sets Saturday afternoon, defeating Manhattan 25-21, 25-12, 25-12. The Broncs improve to 13-15 on the season and 12-3 in MAAC play, while the Jaspers fall to 1-25 on the year, including an 0-15 mark in league matches.
Rider jumped out to an early lead in the opening set, but trailing 12-6 Manhattan took their first lead of the match with a 10-2 run, capped by five-straight points. Tied 19-19,
Ryley Frye (New Hope, MN/Robbinsdale Armstrong[UTEP]) served three-straight points, including an ace and the Broncs stayed away for the opening set victory.
The Broncs carried the momentum into the second, quickly building a 7-3 lead. Up 9-6, Rider went on a 5-0 run, including two kills and a block by
Anja Kelly (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley). Leading 16-11, Rider went on another 5-0 run, with three blocks from
Molly Rohde (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville), who would later end the set with an ace.
Rider took control of the third early. Leading 4-3, Rider pulled away with a 9-0 run including three kills by
Paige Giehtbrock (Clarkston, MI/Clarkston), and the Broncs never looked back in winning the match in straight sets.

- Rider now completes the regular season sweep and cuts the Manhattan lead in the all-time series to 31-25.

Makenna Mason (Hilton Head Island, SC/Hilton Head) led the Broncs with 15 assists, her 24
th match with double digits. She was joined by Frye, who finished with 12 to reach double figures for the 22
st time this season.
