What You Need To Know
- Rider returns to action Saturday, when it plays host to Delaware in its home opener. The Broncs opened the season with seven-straight on the road.
- Rider's four true road wins are most in the nation and mark the first time in program history that the Broncs have won as many as three true road games in November.
- T.J. Weeks Jr. has been the Broncs' leading scorer, averaging 12.1 points per game. He's scored in double figures five times in seven games, including a season-high 19 points at San Diego.
- Flash Burton went for 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting Nov. 27 at Villanova.
- Delaware is 3-3 with wins over Robert Morris, Iona and Yale, while falling to Bucknell, Bryant and Vermont.
- Rider and Delaware renew their rivalry, which has featured barnburners in each of the last two seasons. A Jameer Nelson Jr. tip-in with 3.6 seconds left decided the 2022-23 meeting at Alumni Gym, before Allen Powell went coast-to-coast for a go-ahead, up-and-under reverse lay-up with 42 seconds left and made two more clutch free throws with a second remaining in overtime as the Broncs won the 2023-24 meeting in Newark.
- The Blue Hens are led by Memphis and Virginia Tech transfer John Camden, who's averaging a team-high 18.7 points per game. Niels Lane (13.8 ppg.), Cavan Reilly (13.5 ppg.), Izaiah Pasha (10.3 ppg., 2.5 apg.) and Erik Timko (10.2 ppg., 5.2 rpg.) also average in double figures.
- The Broncs were picked seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Rider has had unique success in three prior occasions being picked seventh, outperforming their projections with the 1st (2017-18), 2nd (2014-15) and 6th (2016-17) seeds in the MAAC Tournament in those seasons.
- 13th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 196-186 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) has more wins at Rider.
