SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Rider University men's swimming and diving team opened the 2024-25 season with a 183-107 dual-meet loss against Seton Hall Saturday afternoon.
The Bronc men won three events in the meet.
Tivon Benjamin (Palm Bay, FL/St. Anthony's Secondary School),
Nicholas Lane (Hackettstown, NJ/Lane Academy), and
Nelson Paraison (Newark, NJ/Hackensack) swept the 100-fly in 51.58, 52.93, and 54.65 respectively.
The Broncs earned a one-two-three finish in the 200-IM.
Riley Rowan (Simpsonville, SC/Clonlara) took the event in 2:03.23,
Zach McKatten (West Milford, NJ/Passaic County Technical Vocational School) was second in 2:07.69 and
Filippo Sala (Davie, FL/Nova Southeastern University School) was third in 2:09.81.
In the 400-free relay
Ethan Rogowski (Waterford, NY/Shenendehowa),
Billy Ruddy (Newton, NJ/Kittatinny Regional),
Dawid Turos (Riverwoods, IL/Deerfield), and
Alex Boeckx (Folsom, PA/Ridley) earned the win, stopping the clock at 3:11.54
NOTES & QUOTES
- Seton Hall now leads the all-time series 17-15.
- Sala took third in the 1,000-free.
- Turos was third in the 200-free and 100-free.
- Boeckx took second in the 100-breast.
- Ruddy was second in the 50-free and 200-breast.
- Rogowski added a third-place finish in the 500-free.
