Women’s Soccer and Sacred Heart Play to Gritty 0-0 Draw in Defensive Match

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – In a tightly contested defensive battle, the Rider University women's soccer team played Sacred Heart to a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon. Both teams had their opportunities to break the deadlock, but neither could find the back of the net after 90 minutes of intense action. The draw moves the Broncs to 1-6-3 on the season.

Rider goalkeeper Ellie Sciancalepore was a crucial factor in the Broncs securing the draw, recording eight saves, many of them in high-pressure moments. Sacred Heart tested the Rider defense throughout the match, but Sciancalepore's quick reflexes and shot-stopping ability kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard.

The Broncs had several players contributing to their attack, as Rider outshot Sacred Heart 17-16, including a 9-8 advantage in shots on goal. As they continue their season, the Broncs will aim to turn their solid defensive foundations into winning results.
