- Rider reopens MAAC play Friday, when it travels to Quinnipiac on ESPN+.
- The Broncs played to an overtime decisions in two-straight - an 88-85 win at Delaware on Dec. 20 and a 77-73 loss at home to Penn on Dec. 23 prior to a 90-63 setback at Penn State on Dec. 29.

Mervin James was named MAAC Player of the Week on Dec. 26 for averaging 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 blocks per game in the two overtime decisions. He scored 25 points at Delaware and added 20 against Penn.

Allen Powell scored a season-high 21 points and hit six three-pointers in the Penn setback. He hit four of his five regulation triples in the final four minutes and added another in overtime.
- James leads the MAAC at 19.2 points per game and is third at 7.4 rpg.

Allen Powell became the 42nd Rider player to score 1,000 career points against Stonehill on Dec. 8. Already a 1,000-point scorer for his collegiate career entering the season, including 620 in two seasons at North Alabama, James became Rider's 43rd 1,000-point scorer with his 1,000th as a Bronc Dec. 29 at Penn State.
- Quinnipiac is led by Matt Balanc at 18.4 points per game, while Amarri Tice has added 11.0 ppg. and a team-high 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. Paul Otieno has also added 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game, while Rihards Vavers (9.1 ppg.), Alexis Reyes (8.9 ppg.) and Savion Lewis (8.2 ppg., 7.2 apg.) have also made strong contributions.
- After Rider won 12 of the first 14 meetings in the series, including seven straight from January 2016 to January 2019, the Bobcats have won eight of the last nine, including the last six. Three of Quinnipiac's last eight wins in the series have come in overtime, including a 90-88 decision last February 19 in Hamden.
