What You Need To Know
- Rider continues MAAC play Saturday, when it visits Mount St. Mary's.
- The Broncs snapped a two-game skid with a 62-57 win at Saint Peter's Thursday. Mervin James scored 14 of his 20 points in the second half, reaching 20 for the ninth time this season. James leads the MAAC at 19.2 points per game.
- After scoring in double figures in each of the first 16 games of the year and reaching at least 15 points 15 times in that span, James scored eight in consecutive games against Marist and Niagara, before bouncing back at Saint Peter's
- T.J. Weeks Jr. scored his 1,000th collegiate career Jan. 12 vs. Manhattan. He scored the first 843 points in four years at UMass before transferring to Rider.
 - Allen Powell became the 42nd Rider player to score 1,000 career points against Stonehill on Dec. 8. Already a 1,000-point scorer for his collegiate career entering the season, including 620 in two seasons at North Alabama, James became Rider's 43rd 1,000-point scorer with his 1,000th as a Bronc Dec. 29 at Penn State.
- The Mount is led by Dakota Leffew at 17.6 points and 3.9 assists per game. De'Shayne Montgomery has added 11.4 ppg., while Dallas Hobbs (8.7 ppg.), Joshua Reaves (7.6 ppg.), Jedy Cordilia (7.3 ppg., 4.8 rpg.), George Tinsley (6.2 ppg.) and Dola Adebayo (6.0 ppg.) have also made strong contributions.
- Rider leads the all-time series with Mount St. Mary's, 14-13. The Broncs and Mountaineers split last year, meeting for the first time as MAAC foes after playing 13 times in the Broncs' five seasons in the NEC, including nine times over their last three seasons in the conference from 1994-95 through 1996-97. In 2022-23, both teams earned road wins in the split.
- 12th-year Head Coach Kevin Baggett's teams have posted a 183-179 record. Baggett won MAAC Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018.
- Only John Carpenter (292) and Thomas Leyden (187) have more wins at Rider.
